Angie Wyman

Angie Wyman is a practitioner specialising in stitched textiles and is a senior lecturer in Textiles at the University of Cumbria, UK. Wyman will discuss the collaborative history between the University of Cumbria and the Textiles Workshop, ANU through the continuing Nets textile project.>

Angie will create a collection of new textile works informed by her stay in Australia during her time as a visiting artist in the Textiles Workshop. This body of work will in itself be ‘location informed practice’; directly informed by her response to working outside of her home environment. Entitled ‘Family Trees’; it will allow her to explore concepts of ‘lineage’, ‘a sense of place’ and ‘location’; the very notion of being ‘rooted’ or ‘uprooted’.
