Amelia Zaraftis is an artist and art educator. She enjoys making objects and imagery in response to field research, with a particular interest in managed landscapes and human consumption of natural resources. Amelia has a broad range of experience as an arts educator for local and national organisations, with roles including Education and Community Programs Officer at Canberra Museum and Gallery, ANU Visual Arts Access tutor teaching programs for primary and secondary aged students, and occasionally Workshop Presenter at the National Gallery of Australia. As an undergraduate student Amelia participated in Environment Studio projects and Field Studies, including curating an exhibition of children's art titled You'll Never Get Here by Car in 2006 as part of The Art of Moving project, and exhibiting work in the Factor of Ten: A Future Worth Having exhibition in 2003. Amelia is a member of the Visual Arts Network of Educators ACT, and is currently working for ANU Student Equity as Project Officer: ANU Regional Partnerships Program, developing visual arts enrichment programs for regional primary and secondary schools.
