The ANU School of Art & Design is delighted to announce the continuation of the highly successful Bundian Way Arts Exchange in 2021.

Building on the success of the Bundian Way Arts Exchange over the last three years, the ANU SOA&D is pleased to invite members of the ACT community to the 2021 Public Information Session to hear more about this enriching opportunity for cultural and creative exchange. All welcome.

The Bundian Way Arts Exchange (BWAE) is a creative participatory project that fosters constructive reciprocal relationships between the members of the ACT community and local regional First Nations and non-Indigenous communities and individuals. The project provides learning events in Canberra which are open to the public, and, a structured Field Program for a limited number of participants.*

The BWAE is led by Dr Amanda Stuart and Ms Amelia Zaraftis who were awarded the Australian National University Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Reconciliation in 2018. The award was accepted on behalf of and with full acknowledgement to all First Nations and non-Indigenous BWAE contributors.

Our 2021 Public Information Session will include remarks by two special guests: author and naturalist John Blay and Cultural Inclusion Manager of Twofold Aboriginal Corporation Alison Simpson. Dr Stuart and Ms Zaraftis will also speak about the overarching aims and purpose of the project, reflect on the first three years of the project, and clarify the Expression of Interest application process for the 2021 Bundian Way Arts Exchange Field Program.

The BWAE Field Program includes facilitated visits to areas along the Bundian Way; a shared historic pathway which has been used by Aboriginal people for millennia, linking Targangil (Mount Kosciusko) with Twofold Bay at Eden, on the Far South Coast of NSW.

To find out more, please attend the public information session at 6pm Monday 17 May.

Alongside this session, the ANU School of Art & Design will be calling for Expressions of Interest for participation in the Bundian Way Arts Exchange Field Program.
