Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Referendum, 50-50: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art at the Australian National University considers the role of art in advancing Indigenous recognition, examining the ANU’s engagement with Indigenous Australians over the past half century.

This exhibition presents 50 works of art in diverse media from the School of Archaeology and Anthropology and the School of Art and Design, as well as from the remarkable collections of individual researchers, this exhibition explores specific encounters between the artist and the academic, the community and the university – connections that continue to inform the processes of reconciliation.
