On Thursday May 23 CraftACT offers an exhibition double bill that kicks off its exciting month long program of craft and design events: Designing a Capital: Crafting a Nation.

At 5:30 pm inside Canberra Museum and Gallery, Ashley Eriksmoen's Exhibition Re-forestation: how to make a tree from a chair will get the evening started. Ashley is the head of the ANU School of Art Furniture Workshop and a busy participant in this year's Designing a Capital program.

Head next door and upstairs at 6 pm to CraftACT where Inhabit: Living in design is opening and providing the launch party for the whole program. The exhibition features Australian craft practitioners and many with strong associations with the ANU School of Art.
