The Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition has been running in Taichung City, Taiwan, since 1996 and it has expanded from a local to international event with over 1000 artists from all over the world contributing artwork. The purpose of the exhibition is to boost the quality of artistic creation, to cultivate artistic talents and to promote artistic exchanges with Taiwan.
There are eleven entry categories in Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition including crafts, sculpture, digital art, photography, printmaking, water color painting, oil painting, glue color painting, seal engraving, calligraphy, and ink-wash painting.
With a prize pool of AUD $120,000 this is one of the highest publicly awarded prizes in Taiwan.
The Da Dun Fine Art Exhibition was brought to Australia by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia.
