Barbara Campbell is the second Centenary Artist in Residence at the School of Art for 2013. Working with students, she is re-examining the series of national performance art events staged in Canberra between 1978 – 1982 known as ACT 1, 2 & 3. Barbara attended ACT 3 as a young and emerging artist from Brisbane. The energy of both artists and audiences made a strong impression on her. Mike Parr had performed in Act 1 and Act 3. Parr and Campbell will work together to conjure up some of the fragmented dreams and memories of these performances across the interval of 30 years, a period which initially saw Parr absent himself from performance just as Campbell was finding her way in.
