Ilka White’s practice has spanned woven textile research, design and production, cross disciplinary collaboration and exhibition based work in textiles, sculpture, installation and video. White’s work is strongly influenced by the natural environment and the forces at work therein. She has traveled into Central Australia to produce work about Newhaven station, Birds Australia’s desert reserve and walked with a group of artists in far South West Victoria to further this immersive approach to art making.
