Archaeological sites, materials and collections have long been a fertile source of inspiration for artists. Yet there are also many contemporary artists whose work engages with archaeology indirectly, through their process, medium or aesthetic sensibility. This exhibition casts an archaeological eye on the art of several local and interstate artists working in printmaking, photography, painting and sculpture.
