Exhibiting Mother Artists

When a female artist becomes a mother her hours are spent in the studio wanting to be with her children but when with her children, she's thinking about doing her art. A mother-artist is torn between two loves, and tethered to both. Her shifting identity is directed by the demands of mothering. At other times the artist is unleashed from the mother persona, as a flood of new art emerges, giving birth to a re-invention of self. This exhibition of mother artists explores motherhood with all its intrinsic and spectacular aspects.

Artists include Danielle Hobbs, Joan Holt, Catherine Kennedy, Lesley Dimmick, Linda Clark, Jasmine Symons, Ruth Skilbeck, Vee Malnar, Susanne Ilschner, Denise Ferris, Irena Storay and Paloma Concierta.
