Jason Smith has been Director of Heide Museum of Modern Art since 2008. Previously he was Director of Monash Gallery of Art which holds an outstanding collection of Australian photography. Between 1997 and 2007 Jason was Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria where he worked closely with many leading Australian and international contemporary artists. He has curated 40 exhibitions and has written on the work of more than 150 artists for a range of publications. He recently curated the exhibition but mostly air, which is currently on show in the ANU School of Gallery.
