Work by faculty, visiting artists, alumni and students and from the permanent collection of the ANU School of Art addressing themes of:
The earth under our feet: clay and description of place
Transformations: the alchemy of firing
Once more with feeling: repetition and its role in craft practice
Higher and higher: porcelain and bone china
The air we breathe: the influence of kiln atmosphere
The clay pencil: sketching with maquettes
The stories we tell: the ceramic narrative
In conjunction with the exhibition & symposium ‘Material Matters’ at the Australian National University School of Art Gallery there will be a series of workshops, satellite exhibitions and community events in Canberra.
