Nigel Meager

Public seminar

Nigel Meager is an art educator, PhD candidate and a Visiting Fellow from the University of Cambridge.

This 45 min session will look in depth at two examples of large collaborative imaginative drawings made by 9-11 year old children in British primary schools. Nigel will show how the drawings were made. He will reflect on how the imagery is evidence for children's capacity for deep, speculative, abstract and philosophical thinking as they make art.

Nigel’s work at ANU has been to explore how observational filmmaking methods pioneered by Professor David MacDougall might help research art education in schools.
