A Dual Exhibition of Taiwan Folk Photography and Chinese Calligraphy
The concept of spectacle implies as a self-conscious gaze and is profoundly embedded in specific cultures. It reminds or even challenges the viewer to negotiate the discrepancy.
The images of photography here are taken by Taiwanese photographers and the calligraphy is created by ANU students. What do we perceive them in terms of content and form? Works or creators? What tool do we need to approach them? The explanation about the dual exhibition shows that they all have the quality of “oriental spectacle”. However, how to approach them is up to you.
