The Centre offers coursework degrees in histories of art, design, material culture and art curatorship, specialising in Asian, Australian, Indigenous, European and American culture. Our teaching is based on close attention art works, co-operative relationships with artists and scholars across Canberra's cultural landscape, and engagement with new digital humanities and contemporary debates. Our degrees focus shape the next generation of curators, critics, art historians and theorists. We offer a dedicated Bachelor of Art History & Curatorship, Bachelor of Art History & Curatorship (Honours), Master of Art History and Curatorial Studies, and a Master of Art History and Curatorial Studies (Advanced).
In this presentation, Centre staff will speak on opportunities within the gallery, library, archive and museum (GLAM) sector; a $2.5 billion economy encompassing the principal repositories of Australia’s social and cultural ‘data’.
