Applying for a permission code: Practice-led Research or Design Inquiry Research Projects

This form asks Postgraduate (coursework) students to plan ahead for their Practice-led Research or Design Inquiry Research Project, before the new semester begins. It is intended to help the SOA&D Postgraduate (coursework) Convenor connect students to an appropriate supervisor in a timely way, so that workshops can allocate their resources accordingly.
 

Please note that this is not an assessment task, but is a way to assist students enrol into the following courses:

  • ARTV8038 Practice-led Research Project (6units)
  • ARTV8039 Practice-led Research Major Project (12units)
  • ARTV8040 Practice-led Research Extended Project (18units)
  • DESN8001 Design Inquiry: Application of Research (6units)
  • DESN8002 Major Design Inquiry: Application of Research (12units)
  • DESN8003 Extended Design Inquiry: Application of Research (18units)
 

KEY DATES

Have this form completed and submitted for the next semester at any time. Earlier the better!
  • Semester 1 – by COB Friday of Orientation WEEK
  • Semester 2 – by COB Friday of Orientation WEEK

 

INITIAL STEPS

  1. Submit this form to the SOA&D Postgraduate Convenor
  2. Student submission application will be sent to the relevant staff member workshop who will then agree to supervise your project
  3. Supervisor will request and approve student enrolment, and administration will confirm permission code against the course code
  4. Student will prepare the hurdle requirement research proposal with their supervisor and submit it at the set date (see course class summaries for detailed assessment items)
