The National Gallery of Australia 2016 National Summer Art Scholarship has hosted sixteen Year 12 students from across the country in a week long immersive program at the National Gallery of Australia and the ANU School of Art.
The students were joined by Cairns based artist Brian Robinson for creative workshops in the Photography and Media Arts and Printmedia and Drawing Workshops at the School of Art. They also took part in well as mentoring sessions from NGA staff and exhibition tours of Tom Roberts and The Last Temptation: The art of Ken and Julia Yonetani.
The program, which has been running since 1997, provides first hand experience of several career paths available in the arts and insight into studying at art school and working in museums and galleries.
