ANU School of Art staff, students and recent graduates from the Ceramics workshop starred at the Awaken the Dragon Festival held in Singapore over 3 days in January. The festival centred on the firing of the historic Dragon Kiln at Jalan Bahar, a 42 metre long kiln that has not been used to its full length for 30 years and is only one of two remaining Dragon Kilns in Singapore.

Leading the firing was Canberra’s own wood firing expert Ian Jones who, along with Ceramics head of workshop, Janet DeBoos, each ran a master class as part of the festival. Other members of the School of Art Ceramics community were on hand to promote Ceramics at ANU to a receptive audience.
