Henry Pilcher, a 2008 Honours graduate from the ANU School of Art’s Furniture workshop has recently won ‘Design Pitch’, a prestigious prize that will see him off to the Milan Salone in 2011. The competition, run by designer furniture store Corporate Culture, and with a Judging panel of 5, featured recent designs from a field of six Australian designers: Josh Carmody, Gavin Harris, David Knott, Kate Stokes, Fukutoshi Ueno and Henry. Henry’s light 'Block 2', was selected as the winner and as a result he will be traveling to Milan for two weeks in April to present his product to the design world. The Milan Salone is a premier event attended each year by global manufacturers and distributors.

Henry’s ‘Block2’ lamp has been a great success with commercial distribution in studio furniture stores around Australia including the National Gallery of Australia's new design store

Update: We are very pleased to announce that the following day Henry Picked up the 'Australian Best Emerging Designer' at the 2010 Idea-awards! With an additional inclusion - being awarded 'Highly Commended' status in the ‘Best Product' Category it is obvious that Henry and his design's are making a serious impact on the Australian scene.
