ANU School of Art & Design Painting alumnus Yioryios Papayioryiou has been commissioned by the ANZ Bank to create a large public sculpture for their global headquarters in Melbourne.
The sculpture, ‘ANZ – Cobalt Blue, Black, Neutral Grey, Cadmium Orange & Gold’ is 2.2 meters high and is made of ANZ credit cards along with stainless steel and Perspex.
Yioryios says using credit cards as materials introduced an element of Pop Art to his work as well as informing the construction of the sculpture, which also responds to its surrounding architectural space.
See it at ANZ Headquarters, 10/833 Collins St, Melbourne, and watch a video of Yioryios discussing the work here.
