Erica Seccombe, Visual Artist and PhD Candidate at the ANU School of Art, has been  selected for a landmark exhibition Time & Vision that will open at the Bargehouse OXO Tower Warf, London UK this October 2012. Erica will be exhibiting her work Ocularanagluphos (2011) which is a large scale anaglyphic print that requires optical glasses to experience the full 3D effect. This work is part of her ongoing research that is being developed through an interdisciplinary PhD project with the ANU’s Department of Applied Mathematics Micro-CT Facility and the ANU Supercomputer Centre’s Vizlab. Erica was a recent recipient of the London Studio Residency this from 1 May to 14 August this year, and an account of her experience will be published Art Monthly Australia October Issue #254.

Time & Vision is curated by Paul Bayley (UK) and highlights the talent, range and vitality of contemporary Australian visual artists and their contribution to contemporary visual culture in London. Celebrating 20 years of the Australia Council of the Arts London Studio Residency in partnership with ACME Studios international residency program, Time & Vision is an exhibition featuring work by 15 Australian artists who have participated in residencies in the UK’s capital over the last 20 years. Many of the artists will be premiering work at the show which will include film, photography, sculpture, painting, performance, installations and site-specific work.

Time & Vision comprises a major publication documenting all 70 of the artists who have participated in the residencies, featuring  Erica and two more high-profile artists from the School of Art, Vivien Binns OAM, & Al Munro. The project also includes a film by artist Liam Benson and an ongoing online platform curated by artist Caroline Kha: http://timeandvision.vaaus.co.uk

Since 1987, 70 Australian artists have benefited from three-month long residencies in London and this milestone is being celebrated through the project Time & Vision, funded by the Australia Council for the Arts and supported by the Australian High Commission in London. The benefit of London residencies for Australian artists cannot be overstated - not only for individual artistic inspiration and career development but also for opening pathways of international communication, cultural co-operation, understanding and exchange for both nations. Time & Vision is a major public project which acknowledges and celebrates the value of these residencies and the achievement of the artists.
