Bathurst Regional Council has acquired Philip Spelman's sculpture Redjar redbottle  from this years Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi.

The acquisition was made possible by an inaugural $20,000 grant from the NSW Government that aims to bring sculpture from the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition to a regional community in NSW.

The announcement was made by the Hon. George Souris at the closing of the exhibition after Bathurst Regional Council was selected from a field of 29 applications from regional councils to choose a work.

Philip Spelman is the Technical Officer in the Glass Workshop and this acquisition is the latest in a long list of high profile commissions and acquisitions as well as being a consistent exhibitor at Bondi's Sculpture by the Sea.
