On Saturday 4 October 2014, the winners of the Capital Arts Patrons Organisation arts fellowships and awards were announced at the CAPO Auction 2014 . We are proud and excited that many of the recipients are from the Australian National University, School of Art community, including staff, alumni and recent graduates: Glass artist Kirstie Rea awarded the prestigious 2015 CAPO fellow; painter and adjunct lecturer Peter Maloney awarded the CAPO Ambassador Award; other awards went to Furniture Workshop Head Ashley Eriksmoen; painter and research fellow Julie Brooke; sculptor and performance artist Jacqueline Bradley; ceramicist Richilde Flavell, and emerging artist awards to Shellaine Godbold, Jeremy Lepisto, Jemima Parker, and Annika Romeyn.

Since 1983 The Capital Arts Patrons’ Organisation (CAPO), a volunteer non-profit organisation, has supported the ACT region’s artists, by distributing over 2 million dollars as arts fellowships and awards. It has only been through the support from the Canberra arts and business communities that this scheme has been possible. It is through the donations to CAPO of services from Canberra businesses and outstanding artworks by Canberra’s established and emerging artists, which are sold at the annual CAPO auction. This year many artists from the ANU School of Art community donated pieces to the auction, more than 120 artworks were donated and curated into an impressive Canberra-only exhibition that has been is on display for 2 weeks preceding the Auction and taken down at the end of that Auction event, at Canberra Museum and Gallery. To see the full list of art works for auction see CAPO 2014.
