The third and final exhibition made through a collaborative exchange between the ANU Glass Workshop and Berlin Glas e.V. will showcase ANU School of Art & Design alumni at the Australian Embassy in Berlin.
Collaborative Endeavor III: Contemporary Glass from Canberra + Berlin is part of Made in Australia, a festival organised by Canberra Glassworks and the JamFactory, Adelaide.
Collaborative Endeavour III is the culmination of a three year collaboration between Australian and German glass artists. The first exhibition was first shown at the Australian Embassy in Berlin in 2015, and subsequently at the Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf in 2016. The programme celebrates a multifaceted and ongoing dialogue surrounding glass art in the two countries, which began when Hamburg-based artist Klaus Moje was invited to start a glass workshop at ANU in 1982.
Exhibiting artists include SOA&D Glass workshop founder Klaus Moje, current Head of Workshop Richard Whiteley, and alumni and scholarship recipients Madeline Prowd, Ruth Oliphant, Marcel Hoogstad Hay, Alexandra Frasersmith, Charles Walker, Hannah Gason, Kate Nixon and Madisyn Zabel.
Made in Australia features SOA&D alumni Rose-Mary Faulkner, Jennifer Kemarre Martiniello, and Emeirely Nucifora-Ryan, and is showing from 30 June until 13 July at Benhadj & Djilali Galerie für Design.
Collaborative Endeavour III: Contemporary Glass from Canberra + Berlin is now showing at the Australian Embassy in Berlin until 30 August. The catalogue can be viewed here.
