ANU School of Art alumni Daniel Boyd has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Sydney Artspace.
Daniel Boyd is an Indigenous artist whose practice explores colonial narratives. He graduated from ANU School of Art in 2005. Quickly becoming one of Australia's leading artists, Boyd was the recipient of the $80,000 Bulgari Art Award in 2014 and has been included in several significant international exhibitions including the 56th Venice Biennale, 2015. He has just been announced as one of the selected artists for the 20th Biennale of Sydney to take place in 2016.
His appointment at Artspace will be valuable in supporting Indigenous-Australian art practices during a critical time of international recognition.
