Dr David Hansen, from the ANU Centre for Art History and Art Theory, will present the Newcastle Art Gallery Society annual lecture on the topic 'Silent Witness: Images of Australia’s Frontier Wars'.  

To coincide with the exhibition Black White & Restive, the talk will include images of 19th century paintings, drawings, prints and photographs, which record or describe particular incidents of armed conflict between Aboriginals and the British military, explorers and settlers.
