Emerging Contemporaries at Craft ACT
SHARE

On February 12, Craft ACT launched their annual Emerging Contemporaries exhibition that showcases the best recent graduates in craft and design from the region.
The 2015 offering is open until March 28 and is no exception to the high quality of work the community is used to seeing in this selected exhibition.
In her description of the group of 10 artists local writer and founder of Feminartsy, Zoya Patel, links the diverse work through their notable innovation; “each piece demonstrating a desire for continually pushing at the boundaries of design thinking and methodology.”
Four recent graduates represent the School of Art in Emerging Contemporaries, Chelsea Lemon, Marina Hanser, Richilde Flavell and Zoe Brand. The announcement was made at the opening of the Graduating Exhibition 2014 as part of the School’s Emerging Artist Support Scheme (EASS).
The School of Art is very proud of our Emerging Artist Support Scheme. Patrons of EASS come to a special preview of the graduating exhibition and offer a range of awards and prizes to our graduates - anything from subscriptions, cash and materials through to exhibitions and residencies. Both EASS and our many fine patrons play an integral role in keeping the Canberra art scene vibrant and exciting, and we're very pleased to see our graduates launch out into the world with so many rich prospects ahead of them.
