On Thursday 30 April 2015 the exhibition Field Studies from South East Australia: Selected Works 2010-14 opened at Adolfo Winternitz Gallery, School of Art, PUCP, Lima, Perú. The exhibition presents artwork selected from Field Study programs undertaken in the last 5 years comprising 53 artworks from 26 artists.

The Australian National University School of Art Field Study program has been operating since 1996. The program delivers academic and logistic assistance to visual art students to undertake field-based research for fine art production about the environment.

Since the program’s inception, more than 40 projects, in which artists interact in the field with researchers from the sciences and the humanities and with members of regional communities, have been delivered in south-east Australia. All programs include a public exhibition of the artwork produced.

The aim of Field Studies from South East Australia: Selected Works 2010 -14 is to promote dialogue between Geography and Environment Program and School of Art at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Perú (PUCP) and The Australian National University. Participating artists send their work as an aesthetic greeting to colleagues at PUCP in the hope that the show is the first of an enduring exchange.

The exhibition continues until 21 May 2015.

The participating artists are Mariana Vadell Weiss, Heike Qualitz, John Reid, Caroline Huf, Ximena Briceno, A G Stokes, Joseph Mougel, Dean Sewell, Andrew Lyne, Tarn Smith, Liz Coats, Kerry Shepherdson, Judith Fuller, Cedra Wood, Frank Thirion, Marzena Wasikowska, Hanna Hoyne, Amelia Zaraftis, Sarah Nathan-Truesdale, Shesha Rajan Reddy, Ursula Frederick, Erika Kusumoto, Helen Baund, Helen Blue, Fran Ifould, Kate Enzenauer, and Vida Summer.
