SHARE
The School of Art's Emerging Artist Support Scheme, otherwise known as EASS, offers a range of awards and prizes to graduating students. Patrons of EASS viewed the Graduating Exhibition on Wednesday 25 November and selected the recipients of their awards, which range from subscriptions, cash and materials through to exhibitions and residencies.
EASS Patrons provide valuable opportunities for emerging artists in developing professional practice as they embark on their artistic careers, and play an incredibly important in supporting and invigorating Canberra's art scene.
In 2015 the School of Art is excited to have several new awards, including the Country to Coast Exhibition and Residency Prize awarded by Barbara Holloway and Helen Maxwell; the Crafted/Tuggeranong Arts Centre Sculpture Commission jointly awarded by Crafted Inc and Tuggeranong Arts Centre which offers mentorship of the Artillion workshop to develop and deliver outdoor artworks for The Brindabella Residences; the Margaret Munro Prize offered by Margaret Munro OAM for $2000 and a group exhibition in the SOA Foyer Gallery; and the .M Contemporary Exhibition Prize for a show at .M Contemporary Gallery in Sydney.
