In September the 13th Pingyao International Photography Festival was held in the ancient town of Pingyao, Shanxi province, China. The annual festival included works by current Honours students in Photography and Media Arts including Anja Loughead, Daniel Savage, Alex Orme and Maddy Bishop.

Head of School, Dennis Ferris attended the event and gave a floor talk in front of the students’ work (pictured here with translator).

The festival is one of the largest of its kind in the world and features exhibitions of work by highly respected International and Chinese artists as well as forums, conferences and workshops.

Denise was fortunate enough to meet with world renowned, South Africa based photographer Roger Ballen and snapped a picture with him (below).
