In alumni news, Henry Wilson, a graduate of the Furniture Workshop has recently converted a former bakery in Sydney’s Balmain into a new Aesop store.

The brief from the sophisticated skincare brand to Henry Wilson Studio was quite open, according to Wilson in an interview with Dezeen Magazine about the project.

One of the features of the transformation was the removal of the old fit out and exposing the historic sandstone walls of the original building.

Henry Wilson graduated from the Furniture workshop in 2006 and has gone on to be recognised in several major design awards including the Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award and the QANTAS Spirit of Youth Award. He is now based in Sydney where he operates as Henry Wilson Studio.
