Films by 109 students will be featured in the Image in Transition screening at the National Film & Sound Archive (NFSA) this week as the culmination of a major collaborative teaching project between the NFSA and the ANU School of Art.
First year students from Foundation Studies have had the opportunity to to create a time-based work that can take a variety of forms, from digital animation to stop-motion or a cartoon story board.
Films by 14 students have been selected by the NFSA for inclusion into their archive, including Marie by Chelsea Sydenham and Glow by Alice Turner.
Also selected were works by Gabby Beaumont, Aston Cox, Bryan Foong, Nathaniel Kempton, Riley Krewaz, Nate (Yonghun) Lee, Jack Lewis, David Lindesay, Tiffany Matthews, Jessica Semler, Christina Solazzini and Karen Sorensen.
Now in its sixth year, the project provides the opportunity for students to connect with the expertise of NFSA staff, receive critical feedback and familiarise themselves with the NFSA as part of their creative industry.
Image in Transition is screening on Thursday 29 October at the National Film and Sound Archive Arc Cinema at 1pm. For the full catalogue of works, click here.
