Congratulations to recent Honours Graduate Katherine Griffiths on the publication of her book Naturally Beautiful, through Youngblood Editions, and her current exhibition at the Queensland Centre for Photography (QCP)
Youngblood Editions is an initiative that supports emerging Queensland photomedia artists through awarding an exhibition at the QCP and accompanying publication.
Through her work Katherine Griffiths explores the influence of the female image in popular culture and its influence on young girls. The series Naturally Beautiful presents six girls aged between 12 and 13 in contrasting edited and unedited portraits.
The publication includes an essay by Alys Moody and is available from the QCP online shop. View the QCP exhibition listing for visitor information and more images.
Griffiths studied in the Photography and Media arts Workshop and her work is currently also being exhibited at Canberra Contemporary Art Space in their annual curated exhibition of emerging artists, Blaze. Find out more about the exhibition at Canberra Contemporary Art Space.
