Pilchuck Glass School’s prestigious Libenský - Brychtová Award recognises excellence and artistic achievement and on May 14 the award was presented to one of Australia’s most significant glass artists Klaus Moje. The award was presented at Chihuly Garden and Glass in in Seattle, US, by Richard Whiteley, the current head of the ANU School of Art Glass Workshop and former student of Klaus.

Klaus Moje was the founder of the Glass Workshop at the Canberra School of Art, now ANU School of Art, over 30 years ago and his legacy has ensured that the workshop would become Australia’s leading tertiary education program in glass art.

The award recognises his far reaching contribution to the medium of glass as an artist, educator, innovator and advocate. He is also the Director of Canberra Glassworks.
