M16 Artspace has announced it will be offering two 6-month studio residencies as Emerging Artist Support (EASS) awards at the Graduating Exhibition 2016.

The awards have been made possible following a generous donation from the Estate of Pete Smith, in support of emerging artists.

Pete Smith, who died in 2014, was the first General Manager of M16 Artspace from 2004-2006 at its early home at Mildura St, Fyshwick. He was an accomplished artist, regularly exhibiting in Canberra and the surrounding region from 1994-2014. His work won the Phoenix Prize for Spiritual Art in 2007.

The ANU School of Art extends its appreciation for the support of these awards.
