ANU School of Art Masters of Art History and Curatorial Studies student Chelsea Hopper has been appointed the Emerging Curator of the HERE&NOW17 exhibition at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery in Perth, opening in April 2017. This is the first time the HERE&NOW exhibition has been offered nationally to early career curators.

HERE&NOW is an exhibition initiated in 2012 by the Cultural Precinct at the University of Western Australia, and presented at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery annually within the Dr Harold Schenberg Art Centre at UWA.

Chelsea will curate an exhibition of new contemporary works by six West Australian early career artists. The exhibition provides an occasion to highlight current issues in visual arts practice and to engage in a discussion about the nature of practice in Western Australia.

Chelsea is also currently interning at the National Gallery of Australia in the photography department and continues to be an independent curator and writer.
