ANU School of Art congratulates Magda Keaney on her appointment as Senior Curator of Photography at the Australian War Memorial (AWM). Magda studied Art History at ANU and undertook her Masters at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. She is currently a PhD student in the Centre's Art History and Theory program.

Magda brings a wealth of experience to the AWM position as a photography curator, writer and historian. She held a research fellowship with the photography collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum, was Associate Curator at the National Portrait Gallery in London, inaugural curator and creative director of the Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion, and Director of the Gallery of Australian Design, Canberra. She has published extensively and her most recent book is Fashion Photography Next.
