Simon Cottrell's solo exhibition titled 'Surface Depths' is on show at Klimt02 Gallery in Barcelona Spain from the 18th September to 11th of October 2013.

"For many years I have explained my work as being both 'of' and 'about' my specific creative process. With the new work for this exhibition I am focusing closely and honing in on one part of that process. Reflection is the cognitive process that draws from previous aesthetic outcomes to inform the conception of new work. In many of my new works are attempting to make the process of reflection more visible; building objects which attempt to materialise the immaterial."
