ANU School of Art alumni Lionel Bawden, Danie Mellor, and Geoff Newton have been shortlisted for the 2016 Fleurieu Art Prize.
Since its establishment in 1998, the Fleurieu Art Prize has highlighted the compelling power of landscape in contemporary culture. Now valued at $65,000, it is the richest landscape art prize in the world.
Previously held on the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia, the 2016 exhibition will take place at the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art in Adelaide and will be accompanied by a Festival Community Program celebrating the culture of the Fleurieu Peninsula region.
The 2016 winner of the Landscape Prize will be announced on opening night on Thursday 2 June 2016.
