The Final Report of the research project, South East Coastal Adaptation (SECA): Coastal urban climate futures in SE Australia from Wollongong to Lakes Entrance, was released in April this year. (See PDF below)
Funded by the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF), the research project is the main reference document for the current ANU School of Art Field Study Program, which is focusing on Eden, NSW, as one of the towns covered by the SECA project.
Professor Barbara Norman, Urban and Regional Planning, University of Canberra, and SECA project Chief Investigator, has briefed Field Study artists about the research contained in the Final Report at various locations in and around Eden.
The Final Report concludes with the following text and photograph:
An important conclusion is the need to better connect and communicate research and policy outcomes with the regional community. As a next step, this research collaboration is working with the ANU School of Art Field Studies program as part of the communication strategy of the research findings. It is hoped that this initiative will again contribute to building a stronger collaborative approach to understanding coastal adaptation in the south east coast of Australia.
