Sturt summer school with Valerie Kirk

Head of ANU School of Art Textiles Workshop Valerie Kirk will be teaching a tapestry and embroidery course at Sturt craft centre, Mittagong in January 2016.

Over five days, Valerie will teach the basics of making a woven tapestry or embroidery, including how to develop ideas and concepts. Students will create experimental designs and drawings, as well as a finished design and woven and embroidered samples, which forms the basis for a substantial body of work.

Tapestry weave and stitch: design and application with Valerie Kirk will be held from 4-9 January 2016.
