The SOA remembers Sylvie Stern as one of Canberra’s most dynamic and passionate arts broadcaster, event organiser, and patron and supporter. Her work on 2XX was a standout contribution to the discourse on all arts practice including the visual arts and design. Many of the SoA staff, students and alumni had the opportunity to discuss their work and ideas with Sylvie on Art n Soul and Art Beat.

Sylvie was generous and motivated when it came to the arts and our Canberra way of life. She was a natural force of integrity and inspiration and we take this opportunity to acknowledge the heartfelt work she did for the arts in Canberra.

She will be sorely missed.
