On Friday 28 October, the School of Art welcomed a delegation from the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts from the Liaoning Province Northeast China.

The Luxun Academy of Fine Arts is one of Northern China’s leading tertiary institutions and one of China’s top fine arts colleges. Hosted by the Sydney College of Fine Arts, a delegation led by Professor Li Baoquan visited Canberra’s cultural institutions and the Australian National University School of Art. They were welcomed by Professor of Practice-Led Research Anthea Callen and School Manager Barbara McConchie, and undertook a tour of the School, meeting staff and students of each discipline area. The visit focused on the research and education underpinnings of both institutions. Professor Li took a keen interest in the School’s facilities, the work being produced by its students and the School’s extensive HDR program.
