Fernando do Campo Winner of Southern Cross Young Achiever Award

Alumnus of the Painting Workshop, Fernando do Campo has been awarded 2013 Young Achiever Award for the Arts at a ceremony in Hobart on April 6. The award is part of a diverse suite of Young Acheiver Awards which aim to acknowledge, encourage and most importantly promote the positive achievements of young Tasmanians up to 28 years of age. The Award was presented by the patron of the awards and Tasmanian Premiar, Lara Giddings, who emphasised the important role young people like Fernando play in the cultural and community development within Tasmania.

According to his representative, Handmark Gallery, Fernando is preparing for his new role at the Venice Biennale in the Australia Pavillion and will undertake a residency in Vienna later this year.
