Assemble UK: Work & Projects

In this talk, presented by the ANU School of Art & Design in partnership with Molonglo, James will introduce Assemble’s cooperative working method and award-winning body of work, which is focused on both making things and making things happen.

Founded in 2010 to undertake a single self-built project, Assemble has since realised cultural buildings, community meeting places, public art projects, temporary creative spaces, open access workshops, playgrounds and a community-led architectural ceramics business. In 2015, Assemble was the first architecture practice to win the Turner Prize, Europe’s most prestigious prize for art. Assemble is currently designing the industrious neighbourhood at Dairy Road in Canberra, their first project in Australia.
