2025 Drawing Prize Winner Liv Kidston with guest judge, H.C. Coombs Creative Arts Indigenous Fellow, Dennis Golding.
Congratulations to Liv Kidston, the Winner of the 2025 ANU School of Art & Design Drawing Prize!
The Winner was announced at the Opening Reception on Wednesday 17 September by guest judge, Dennis Golding, this year’s H.C. Coombs Creative Arts Indigenous Fellow.
With 43 finalists, the 2025 Drawing Prize showcases and celebrates the breadth and depth of drawing practice within the ANU School of Art & Design. The Prize is an annual event open to all current students enrolled in one or more courses in Semester 2 at the ANU School of Art & Design. The value of the prize awarded is $1,500.
Liv is currently completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) at the School of Art & Design. Liv says of her winning work:
"Threads of My Thoughts" is an autobiographical artist book that explores my experience of dyslexia and neurodivergent perception. Using layered machine embroidery and distorted text, the work captures the speed of ADHD thought spirals and my frustration while learning to read, inviting viewers into a sensory encounter with dyslexia.
2025 People's Choice: Voting is now open for the People's Choice Prize - visit the Gallery during the exhibition to view all the works and vote for your favourite artwork. The People's Choice Winner will be announced at the Closing Reception on Wednesday 22 October.
The Drawing Prize exhibition runs from 18 September until 24 October.
Gallery hours are Tuesday to Friday 10:30am - 3pm.
