An art and design education comes down to where you learn, where you work, and how you engage with the world.

Our workshops cover ceramics, glass, printmaking, bookmaking, photography, digital media, digital fabrication, textiles, wood and sculpture. They are generously equipped teaching spaces, staffed by expert practitioners and technicians. Students acquire expertise across a diversity of facilities and techniques, and combine media and methods to achieve their creative outcomes.

Dedicated student studios are a benefit of the School's scale and our focus on the studio as the critical site for learning. It's where students become practitioners through sustained work, peer exchange, and the discipline of showing up to make.

Canberra puts the national galleries, museums and cultural institutions on our doorstep. Professional placements aren't an add-on but a thread woven through every program - and experts come in as readily as students go out.
