Artist Talk: Anu Penttinen

Anu Penttinen is a Finnish glass designer and maker. 


Anu launched her own company, Nounou Design in 2003. She has collaborated extensively with Finnish and International design houses and manufacturers, including Iittala and Marimekko. Now based in The Nuutajarvi Glass Village, home to glassmaking since 1793, Penttinen focuses on local production and engagement, simultaneously producing works and commissions in her glass studio and co-owning and running a local restaurant and boutique hotel. 


Penttinen received a BA from the University of Art and Design, Helsinki in 1999, a BA with First Class Honours (Glass) from the ANU School of Art & Design in 2000, and a Masters of Art from the University of Art and Design, Helsinki in 2002.


Anu Pettinen is a Visiting Artist in Glass. Her visit to Canberra is supported by the ANU Visual Arts Endowment and SOA&D Adelaide partner the Jam Factory.
