Miriam Kelly is a curator of contemporary art and currently holds the position of Curator at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) in Melbourne (2018-), and Curator of the John Fries Award 2019-20. She was formerly Curator at Artbank Sydney (2013-17) then Senior Curator for Artbank Melbourne (2017-18), during which time she was also sub-editor of the visual arts and culture publication Sturgeon. During her time at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Miriam was the Assistant Curator of Australian Paintings and Sculpture (2008-13).
Miriam has curated exhibitions independently, as well as in her institutional roles at the NGA, Artbank and ACCA, and has mostly recently delivered ACCA’s major summer exhibition Feedback Loops (Dec 2019-Mar 2020). Miriam has also published and presented on a range of contemporary practices and historical areas of Australian art. Over the past decade, Miriam has also served as Chair of Runway Journal (formerly Runway Experimental Australian Art, 2016-17), as well as on the boards of Canberra Contemporary Art Space, Megalo Print Studio + Gallery and independent Sydney based dance company Dirty Feet.
