Scott Redford draws upon his experiences growing up on the Gold Coast to explore
different aspects of social identity. Redford recognises the supreme place of sport in
Australian popular culture, but also speaks of how sporting environments - arenas,
schoolyards or beaches - are all sites of ‘codified warfare’. Scott Redford has exhibited
nationally since 1982 and internationally since 1999. His conceptually driven practice
includes painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, installation and video.
